ALAMOSA LIVE MUSIC ASSOCIATION

The Alamosa Live Music Association is a dynamic non-profit community arts organization in the San Luis Valley. Enriching and celebrating the lives of musicians and community members alike, ALMA fosters joy and connection by providing opportunities for diverse cultural expression through live music.

ALMA Board of Directors

Help ALMA fulfill its mission to bring accessible, quality, live music to the San Luis Valley by serving on its board. Attend monthly meetings, host concerts, assist with programming, marketing, and development, all while having fun!

AREA AGENCY ON AGING - REGION 8

Senior Center Dining Room – Fridays, 11:00am-12:30pm

Assist with the lunch service at the Alamosa Senior Center. Regular volunteers are needed for Fridays. The volunteer will arrive at the Senior Center at 11:00am and will check in folks who have come to eat a congregate meal. The volunteer will cheerfully greet guests, keep track of who partakes in the meal on site, and assist with new clients’ intake paperwork. The volunteer remains on site until approximately 12:30pm, and will also be served a free meal during their shift.

At Care and Share Food Bank, we believe no one should go hungry. Volunteers are the heart of our organization—each year, they generously give more than 47,000 hours of their time to help us distribute nutritious food to our hunger relief partners and neighbors in need. CASA DEL VALLE

CASA del Valle serves children involved in dependency and neglect cases in the 12th Judicial District of Colorado. A CASA volunteer advocate provides stable and meaningful adult connection and advocacy for children experiencing extreme amounts of turbulence in their lives. By volunteering with CASA del Valle, you have the opportunity to aid in the court process of achieving a safe and permanent home for a child as quickly as possible.

Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)

A CASA will be a volunteer advocate for children involved in dependency and neglect cases within the 12th Judicial District. This advocacy includes meeting regularly with the child, professionals within the court system and other involved parties, in order to craft a detailed and accurate recommendation regarding what is in the child or children's best interest. Volunteers will go through ~40 hours of training and should expect to commit up to 4-6 hours per week for up to 24 months depending on the circumstances of their assigned cases.

COLORADO WELCOME CENTER

Travel Counselor

Join our team of Volunteer Travel Counselors at the Colorado Welcome Center in Alamosa! You’ll be the ultimate local guide, connecting travelers with our region’s unforgettable experiences. You’ll meet amazing people from around the world, connect with your community, go on regional excursions and interact with other volunteers! Travel Counselors work in two to four hour shifts at the Welcome Center located at 610 State Avenue in Alamosa. Volunteers will greet guests, provide information on local area attractions, provide information and driving directions, recommend activities and restaurants to travelers. You are the front line greeter for our community and should be proud to represent Alamosa to our guests.

Alamosa Food Pantry Stocking & Loading Helper

Help Feed Our Community!

La Puente needs volunteers NOW at the Alamosa Food Bank to keep its shelves stocked and food moving to families in need.

What you'll do: Load and unload delivery trucks, organize donations, stock pantry shelves, and keep the space clean alongside AmeriCorps members at 802 State Ave.

Available 4-hour shifts:

Requirements: Ability to lift 10+ pounds. Wear close-toed shoes.

Alamosa Food Pantry Greeter

The Alamosa Food Bank is looking for a volunteer to assist with greeting new clients and assisting them in navigating our brand-new pantry space. This volunteer will help food bank visitors with the brand new "take a number" system and waiting room. The volunteer will also assist brand new clients with learning how to "shop" at the food bank and will help them to navigate the pantry for the first time. Physical activity: No lifting required! Substitute volunteers are also needed to be on call to cover shifts when regular volunteers are absent.

Alamosa Food Pantry Helper

This position is located at the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley’s (FBNSLV) hub pantry in Alamosa, at 802 State Ave. RSVP volunteers will assist full-time La Puente AmeriCorps members stationed at the Alamosa Food Bank in running the day-to-day operations and set-up of the pantry and in serving clients during the pantry's open hours. Duties: stocking shelves, greeting & assisting clients, sorting produce & donations. Recommended skills: ability to lift 10-20 pounds. Shifts are 11:00am-2:00pm. Requirements: wear close-toed shoes.
