Cortez Meals on Wheels - Mon, Wed, Thur, Fri @10:30-11:30am

Dolores Meals on Wheels - Mon + Wed @ 11:45-12:45

Mancos Meals on Wheels - Mon + Wed @ 11:45-12:45

Delivering food to home-bound seniors. Takes about an hour and brings a SMILE and great nutritious food to home-bound neighbors in our community.

Kitchen support in any of the senior centers

Helping the on-site cook by chopping veggies, doing dishes, tidying up this role can be seasonal, like before annual celebrations such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Station: Cortez Cultural Center

Coffee barista, Artist display support with information and design, School children visits, Annual Birding Festival, Everybody Eats event.

A variety of tasks and opportunities abound. CCC sponsors several annual festivals that always need prep and take down support. Volunteers can provide retail shop assistance, outside plant yard maintenance, retail management experience, accounting, business and legal experience. Actively seeking new board members for some of these roles.

Station: San Juan Area Agency on Aging - SHIP program

Volunteers for health insurance open enrollment

Do you like to help folks sign up for Medicare? Would you like to learn more about Medicare? This is a seasonal role with great training and support. Volunteers report to the Annex.

Station: Montezuma Heritage Museum

Front Desk Volunteers

Greet and orient museum visitors and assist with museum store sales. In addition, front desk volunteers may help with light cleaning, administrative tasks, preparing for school groups, and other possible small projects.

Hours Needed: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 10 AM - 4 PM

Volunteers can do a full day (9:30 AM - 4:30 PM) or we could split the workday into two 3.5 hour shifts (9:30 AM - 1 PM and 1 PM - 4:30 PM).

Station: Colorado Welcome Center

Travel Counselor

Travel Counselors work regular shifts in the Colorado Welcome Center on varying days of the week. Shifts are 2 - 4 hours typically. While acting as a Travel Counselor (TC) volunteers will greet guests, provide information on local area attractions, provide information and driving directions, and recommend activities and restaurants to travelers.

TC folks love to help visitors find the right adventure. They are the front-line greeters for our community and are proud to represent Montezuma County to guests. Some additional tasks assigned may be helping with unloading and filing literature and updating of displays.

Seasonal / Substitute Travel Counselor

Summer is busier and the Welcome Center is open longer hours. We’ll take seasonal volunteers or volunteers willing to sub when someone is on vacation or ill.

Station: Montezuma School to Farm Project

Seasonal help: FALL for weeding and harvesting Weeding for food growing garden - need a team of 4-6 folks every other week. 5,000 pounds is expected and is for the community via Good Sam’s Food Pantry. Next weeding time is this _____ at Cortez Middle School. It’s a very fun time. Even a half hour of your time, helps this food get into the community.

Station: Good Sam’s Food Pantry

Stock Shelves, Pantry Prep, Produce Lead, Meat Counter, Pantry Crew Greeter & Check-out Roles, Driver, Pickup Assistant are available IMMEDIATELY.

Good Sam’s Food Pantry is currently in need of volunteer support.

Address is 30-C North Beech St, Cortez. Several shifts for 2-4 hours available:

Tuesdays 9-6 / Wednesdays 11-2 / Thursdays 10-2 / Fridays 12-6

We are committed to serving our neighbors. Volunteers play a vital role in keeping our pantry running smoothly and ensuring that everyone who walks through our doors is met with dignity and support. Training is provided.
