Spark offers support to graduate level interns in the mental health field. We offer a limited number of internships and clinical supervision support for students.
The Mental Wellness Program offers different opportunities to students enrolled in a master’s-level mental health program (typically social work, counseling, psychology, or related). Interns are invited to apply for placement within a local school or to intern directly within Spark’s Mental Wellness Program. Spark is also able to provide third party supervision if your University-identified internship site is unable to meet your supervision needs.
What we offer:
- We provide internship opportunities for graduate students in a mental health field (social work, clinical mental health counselor, etc.)
- Internships we may have available:
- School-based internships within your local community (limited, needs-based, and time-bound)
- Internships with our Mental Wellness Program directly (limited availability)
- We provide other opportunities for short-term volunteering.
- 3rd Party Supervision at University-identified host sites (ongoing availability).
What we don’t offer:
- We do not look for internship placements for you (outside of placement within our school-based internship. If you are interested in supervision at a 3rd party placement, click here.
- We do not accommodate an unlimited amount of internships. Our positions are limited, needs-based, and calendar restricted.)
- We do not offer paid internships
- We do not offer fully clinical opportunities (i.e. you will not receive a full case load, some tasks may not be clinically related, etc.)
- We do not offer crisis services, and we are not a donation center or necessary services center
Our internships and volunteer opportunities are different! Visit our volunteer page to see short-term volunteer opportunities for Spark and Project Helping.
