The RSVP program, powered by AmeriCorps Seniors, engages adults 55+ in volunteer opportunities across Southern Colorado to improve rural community well-being and support seniors’ health through meaningful service.
Through RSVP, we connect older adults (55+) with volunteer opportunities that make a difference in their local area, while helping them stay engaged and healthy. Spark’s RSVP program operates in 3 major areas of Southern Colorado:

Spark’s Speaker Series: Empowering Aging in Alamosa, is an in-person event operated by our RSVP of Alamosa Program. The series features speakers on topics pertaining to older adults and their health. We address issues such as nutrition, memory lapse vs. memory loss, staying active, improving well-being, volunteering, and much more.

The Senior Companion Program engages volunteers aged 55+ to help fellow older adults maintain independence and stay active in their communities across several Colorado counties.

Volunteer with Spark to expand access to care by providing short‑term counseling (up to 10 sessions) for people facing barriers, facilitating support groups, and mentoring emerging clinicians through clinical supervision; the role is flexible and eligible for reimbursements on approved costs. To apply, you must hold an active clinical license and be prepared to offer brief counseling and or group facilitation or supervision, commit to a flexible schedule, align with Spark’s mission of equity and access, and complete Spark’s onboarding and screening steps.

Help with outreach, events, intake support, and resource development to keep the program running smoothly.

Help shape statewide collaboration to expand access to mental wellness services across Colorado. Members advise Spark’s Mental Wellness Program and partner coalitions on strategy, partnerships, and best practices. Ideal candidates are Licensed mental health professionals, clinical candidate, school mental health leaders, public health, or community partners with relevant lived experience or a familiarity with Colorado’s mental health ecosystem and equity‑focused approaches. Post‑graduate candidates support community services a minimum of 4 hours/month while receiving affordable, high‑quality clinical supervision through Spark.
